ASH, HORIZON, RIDING A HOUSE
with Pire Sova and KISLING
trailerA production by Netti Nüganen in co-pruduction with Tanzquartier Wien and Kanuti Gildi SAAL, Tallinn.
Nüganen and her two collaborators reflect on identity and belonging as fluid constructs, shaped by weather and place. By facing the instability of our environment, the audience is invited to consider how we might belong to a landscape that cannot stay the same.

The performance responds to a world where land, language, and folklore have become commodities. As a reaction, Nüganen Sova and Kisling surround themselves with ice. The audience is invited to attend to ice-objects, while dripping ice panels become the center of gravity.

Sova, being a visual artist and curator in her everyday life, paints images on the ice that haunt through the timeline of western art practices: travelling between the ice-canvases, the floor, her body and beyond.
