How to narrate our self-made disaster? Building naratives while deconstructing them is Nüganen's method to open up space for new dramatics - using the performative moment to confront and to transform. Surrounded by the heat and landscapes of California, the protagonist shares with the audience her most banal and expectable everyday actions. But somehow, by highlighting this banality, something magical is created - a parallel universe where the experience of the known everyday is turned upside down into absurdity. The fresh air too unbearable to be inhaled, the light too bright to be absorbed - so she vents. Completely chaotic, headless, spineless. She needs a form - any distinct style - to clasp onto. needle and a thread being the starting point in creating one's own fictional entity. In the workshop we create, edit and compose material on the scales of minimal-maximal, personal-public, performative-mundane. The priority is to create a comfortable, carefree environment where one can freely navigate in – as an expert of their own body. Being a spectator / audience is secondary. Exercises that invoke creation and a setting where one can unnoticeably be influenced by another. Next to recycling fabrics, we will think whether it is finally time to also start recycling ideas. The workshop welcomes everyone with any creative practice. Previous experience in sewing or performing is not necessary.
